Install Sailfish OS (SFOS)

  1. Safe the SFOS zip (include link to sfos_abm.zip) to your phone storage and extract it.
  2. Open the ABM app, move to the tab for SD card and choose the free space to create a new partition.
  3. Choose the type ‘OS user data’. Its size should be at least 8 GB (the least we tested) and as much as you want. SFOS will use 2 GB of this space. Then press ‘Create’
  4. Open the ROMs tab.
  5. Choose the smartphone download symbol at the bottom.
  6. Read the note at the bottom carefully. If you accept the risk, press ‘next’.
  7. Choose Sailfish OS and click ‘Next’.
  8. The app will ask you for the hybris-boot.img. Browse to the location where you saved this file and choose it.
  9. Then the app will ask you for the sailfish.img. Also choose the location of this file.
  10. Afterwards the app wants to know the correct OS User data partition. Take care to choose the right one from the drop down menu and press ‘Next’. Afterwards press ‘Next’ again.
  11. Then you can enter your chosen name of the ROM and click ‘Next’. Afterwards press ‘Next’ again.
  12. Then you can enter name of the ROM as it will be displayed in the start menu of your phone. Click ‘Next’, afterwards press ‘Next’ again.
  13. The app notifies you that it is ready for installing your chosen ROM. If you would like to stop the installation, click ‘Cancel’. Nothing has been changed so far. But if you want to proceed with the installation, click ‘Next’.
  14. The installation should start and will take a while (about 20 minutes on a SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB)
  15. If ‘OK’ appears at the bottom of the text, you are done with installing SFOS
